2 Too much information? Author Patrick Hamilton Walsh devoted a whole chapter of his book Is: The Phenomenon of the Facebook Status to those toe-curling status updates that fall under this heading.

The vast majority of Walsh’s examples are sexually explicit, totally revolting and not the kind of thing you’d want a potential employer, for instance, to see if they went trawling for a background check online.

“People are developing alter egos of themselves because they think they’re anonymous sitting behind a computer,” says Patrick.

“But they have never been less anonymous. People have posted every detail they could think of about themselves up on Facebook and MySpace, from their favourite food to their phone number, with pictures to back everything up, so the whole world can see what they are about.”

Countrymix 106.8FM

I had the best time earlier this week when I popped in the Countrymix106.8FM Studios with Lynsey Dolan, who is now one of my favourite Radio DJ’s.  We had a good old chat about Facebook Statuses and the world in general, which I thoroughly enjoyed and hope to repeat again some time soon.  Also, Thanks must go to Karen [...]

Today I had a fantastic time with the Eastcoast FM crew and managed to get on the radio with Declan Meehan not once but twice.  I also had a good look around at how the station is run, and what all the buttons and knobs are for.  I would like to say a big Thank You to [...]

Australian Newspapers

Today a review of the book was included on Page 2 of the mX Newspaper throughout Australia, accompanied with a picture of me, the Author.  I have not seen the review yet, but by all accounts it was very good, and I am very grateful for the coverage.

N. Ireland media coverage

Is: The Phenomenon of the Facebook Status is a publication which will appeal to anyone who has ever wondered about what their Facebook status should say.

And in a short period of time, that could be just about all of us.

Penned by Patrick Hamilton Walsh, the book is similar to no other ever published and what is more, it couldn’t have been written in a stranger way.
